The British Egyptian Society and King’s College London Egyptian Society are proud to collaborate and host this unique event to its members.

The British Museum has always sought to collect contemporary objects to ensure their collection remains relevant and representative of all world cultures. The Museum is now addressing how it will represent Egypt in the 20th and 21st centuries to present-day and future audiences. Mohamed Elshahed, the British Museum’s Project Curator for Modern Egypt, who is based in Cairo but will be paying a short visit to London, will introduce this pioneering project and share insights on their historical significance.

Join us for an engaging lecture at Kings College prestigious Edmond J. Safra Lecture Theatre followed by networking and canapés.
