DESCRIPTION:Opportunity to visit the Library of Alexandria\, October 2018\nThe UK Friends of the Alexandria Library invite members of the British Egyptian Society and the Library and Information Association (CILIP) to attend the annual meeting of the International Friends of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (IFBA) to be held 14-17 October 2018 \nLocation:  Library of Alexandria \nAl Azaritah WA Ash Shatebi\, Qesm Bab Sharqi\, Alexandria Governorate 21526\, Egypt \nThe IFBA programme will comprise: \n  \nSaturday 13: \n– Informal lunch \nSunday 14 – Tuesday 16: \n– Various meetings and working sessions at the  Library \nWednesday 17 – Thursday 18: \n– Excursion to be arranged by Egyptian Chapter \nFriday 19: \n– Departure \n  \nMost of those who attend regularly stay for a week (13-19) but independent choices of arrival and departure dates present no problems. The annual meeting usually features some of the many cultural events which the Library organises through the year. More than a dozen IFBA Chapters are expected to attend and their members know the Library well. Therefore\, the UK Friends\, together with the Library will arrange special meetings and visits for BES and CILIP members\, devised to suit their specific or professional interests\, to run in parallel with the IFBA meeting. \nFor an overview of the Library’s principal activities\, click here \nThe Library arranges discounted hotel accommodation and coach travel to and from meetings at the Library\, and the excursion. The city has many attractions\, to be more fully listed at a later date.
