DESCRIPTION:British Egyptian Visit to Naples 2024\nA group of Society members families and friends had a very enjoyable few days in\nNaples.\nThere was a very full programme organised by the Secretary Noel Rands.\nFirst on the list was a visit to the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Int the\nevening the restaurant “Mimi” just 5 mins from our hotel was excellent. The food\,\nservice and atmosphere were everything you could want.\nThe following day we set off by train to visit Pompeii in the morning and Sorento in\nthe afternoon. Pompeii is\, of course magnificent. It was a huge city and seems\nincredible that it was wiped out so quickly.\nAfter lunch we took the train to Sorento. A very attractive town\, after a stroll around\nand a climb down to the seafront\, We took the boat back to Naples.\nSunday we took a boat trip to Capri. Some took a bus to the very top and thought the\nviews were wonderful.\nThe following day we went to the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli where we\nwere amazingly well received. Our first guide showed us around the Italian statues\nand other exhibitions and his colleague conducted the tour of the Egyptian Collection\nwhich was small but beautifully presented. Such an enjoyable and informative visit.\nIt was a very successful break away with a lovely group\, the weather was perfect\,\nbrilliant guides\, excellent restaurants and well worth the visit.\nNLR 30/7/24\nIf you enjoy taking a few days break away with lovely people\, eating in local\nrestaurants with lots of exciting tours arranged with excellent guides then do please\njoin us on our tour – please contact Noel Rands on Noel Rands\nsecretary@britishegyptiansociety.org.uk
